Presented for the first time at the Maker Faire in October 2014, Romeow is the first system with an integrated app that can remotely manage the daily diet of small pets. The device consists of a water and kibble dispenser, with which you can also interact via mobile, checking the status of the water and food bowls at any time. It is also possible to record a voice message to call the animal’s attention to the device when desired. The project was born from an idea by Alessandro Affronto, who explains: “Often I am forced to be absent for a couple of days due to work commitments and until now I was forced to leave my cat retired or at home alone, but with the doubt that Barsik didn’t eat. With Romeow we tried to solve this problem, also facilitating the management of the daily unexpected. In fact, if a meeting keeps me in the office longer than expected, I just open the app on my smartphone to easily fill the bowl some kibbles from a distance”.
